Episode 31: Balancing the Scales

Papa Joe Aviance is offering his expertise on how to live a healthy, happy quarantined life. In 2012, his transformation journey began after his song “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” was number six on Billboard’s Dance Chart. The music video was being played round the clock on MTV and VH-1 and that’s when he became dissatisfied with his four-hundred-and-fifty-pound body!

At the time, he was unemployed and on a tight budget, so he began walking daily and learned that he could purchase healthy meals at the The 99 Cent Only Store for seven dollars per meal and twenty one dollars per day. Over the next eighteen months, he lost two hundred and fifty pounds! He also began to work on what became a successful clothing company too. His transformation was so extreme that he was asked to be on several talk shows such as Rachael Ray, The Doctors, FOX, CBS, The Hallmark Channel, and even became a spokesman for the American Heart Association. With his newfound fame, Papa Joe used his platform to start several successful business ventures and best-selling self-help books.

Papa Joe has been the Brand Ambassador for The 99 Cent Only Store, as well as The American Heart Association and has successfully completed two nationwide health and wellness tours. Additionally, he is the Television Producer of the new animated TV series called Electric Negro.
